Antenatal Care
Pregnancy appointments are made during the week and not during weekends or public holidays. However I am “on call” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for labour care, births and emergencies.
Pregnancy visits are done in your own home. If this is a problem it can be negotiated to occur at an alternative address convenient to both of us. Pregnancy visits are scheduled at mutually convenient times. I work in partnership with you helping you make informed decisions regarding your care. It is really important that we meet at scheduled antenatal appointments so that any problems can be picked up early.

Schedule of Pregnancy visits
Monthly up to 30 weeks
Fortnightly from 30 weeks to 36 weeks
Weekly from 36 weeks to 40 weeks or until baby is born
This is the standard schedule and there is room for negotiations of visits on individual basis depending on whether it is your first or subsequent baby
At each pregnancy visit both you and your baby's well being is monitored. There is lots of opportunity for discussion on topics of interest. On average you will find your pregnancy visits last between half an hour to an one hour.
You will meet one of the other midwife I work with at 37 weeks so you are familiar with her.
